The Festive Season's over;
cards all taken down,
neatly packed
and ready
for recycling in the town.
The Festive Season's over;
turkey's getting thinner,
skin and bones
now in the soup
...for tomorrow's dinner.
The Festive Season's over;
baubles off the tree,
plus
prickly heaps of needles
...on the carpet and settee.
The Festive Season's over;
an air of gloom prevails,
but all's not lost
for lo!
we're off,
...to the January sales!
The Festive Season's over;
yet...
Robin's still making his call;
throat a-bursting with the song
