Birthday Card for Harry Patch. One Hundred and Eleven Years.
On June 17th 2009 Harry Patch, veteran of the trenches in WW1, and England’s ‘Last FightingTommy’, celebrated his 111th birthday at home in Wells, Somerset.
In association with the BBC I produced a greetings card which was presented to him on that day. The Birthday Card includes a pastel painting of three lit candles with motifs, surrounded by a photographic collage of images representing Harry’s long and rich life.

Whilst there I was privileged to meet members of the Himalayan Nature Society whose valuable work make such a difference to the people and wildlife of Himachal Pradesh. You can find more about them in the link www.hnsindia.org.
I hold an informal pastel class each Tuesday. 10.15am – 12.15pm. £8 per session. Suitable for all levels and beginners welcome. Email me for information.
