Example below. First poem in the book.
DAWN RISING
Dawn rising, Bridge approaching, glorious silence
in the early morning mist.
Dream riding, spirits lifting,
sky forever
as the River winds below.
Sky winging, heavenly moments,
a bird’s eye view whilst the City slides away.
Day drifting
distant dogs barking basket muttering
to the wires shift and strain
Time for landing breath holding,
tension rising
as the field comes into view.
Now descending, ground approaching, jolt and tipping, knuckles whitening
…safe homecoming!
